Players will be vying for the biggest prize pool in Australian Open history, with both men's and women's singles winners set to take home more than $3 million.

The total prize pool is $86.5 million, a $10 million increase from $76.5 million in 2023 and up from $74 million in 2022.

Just 10 years ago the prize pool was $40 million, putting into context the whopping money on offer for today's stars.

This year's figure has also more than quadrupled in the last 20 years when it was $19.1 million.

Last year's winners took home $2.975m, with the amount for this year's winners up by $100,000.

This year, the prize money has also increased for every round. This includes a surge of 13 per cent for first-round and second-round main draw singles players, as well as a seven per cent rise for semifinalists.
