Collingwood star misses training after car accident

Collingwood star Brayden Maynard has missed a training session after being involved in a car accident on Monday.

The 27-year-old was part of a crash about 6am whilst driving on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway.

Maynard was absent from the Magpies session, but has emerged from the incident unscathed according to the club.

A statement was released to The Sydney Morning Herald confirmed the news and the status of both drivers.

"Collingwood confirms Brayden Maynard was involved in a very minor car accident earlier this morning," the statement read.

"Importantly, no one was hurt.

"Brayden exchanged contact details with the other driver, with only minor damage to the exterior of Brayden's vehicle."

Maynard was part of the Pies' premiership-winning side last year, but only returned to full training in recent weeks after undergoing shoulder surgery in the off-season.

The defender has played 186 games for Collingwood since making his AFL debut in 2015.
