Mitchell Starc has taken a cheeky swipe at England following Australia's 33-run victory at the Cricket World Cup, suggesting the now ousted reigning champions would "probably claim a moral victory".
Speaking to India's Star Sports, Starc said the win, which was Australia's fifth in a row at the tournament, "keeps the momentum going" after the side's early losses to India and South Africa.
"Not the best start but we have progressed nicely," he said post-match.

"[England] would probably claim a moral victory," he added with a grin.
"They are the defending champions, we thought they would come aggressively at us."
The quip referred to English batter Harry Brook's claim during this year's contentious Ashes series that the hosts could "make it a moral victory" with a win in the fifth and final Test.
In Ahmedabad, Australia set England a target of 287 after Travis Head and David Warner were dismissed for a combined 26 runs.
However, the Aussies had a new weapon to unleash in spinner Adam Zampa.
Starc was full of praise for Zampa who he said turned the contest by taking England's "momentum away".
After another all-round showing, Zampa picked up another player of the match honour.
He finished with figures of 3-21 from his 10 overs, along with a stunning catch to dismiss David Willey and a crucial stand with the bat.
Starc also made an immediate impact with the ball, dismissing Jonny Bairstow on the first delivery of England's innings.
