Champion rival accuses Tszyu of 'running his mouth'

//

American boxing champion Jermell Charlo has once again taken aim at leading title rival Tim Tszyu in a foul-mouthed spray.

The pair were scheduled to fight for all of Charlo's super-welterweight belts in January until he broke his hand during training, putting the Las Vegas bout on the backburner.

Aussie Tszyu has since beaten American veteran Tony Harrison to claim the interim WBO title, and has locked in a fight with Mexican brawler Carlos Ocampo on the Gold Coast on June 18.

Charlo, meantime, hasn't fought in almost a year but has been ordered by the WBO to defend his title by the end of September, or relinquish the belt.

While he hasn't been active in the ring, it hasn't stopped the American engaging in an ongoing war of words with his nemesis from Down Under, who he has repeatedly claimed is not up to his level of boxing.

In the latest public spray, posted in a live online video, Charlo suggested Tszyu hasn't done enough in the sport yet to warrant a bout.

"When they release me, I'm knocking that b---h out from Australia, and I ain't going to say nothing else," Charlo said.

"Yeah, this motherf---er running his mouth and talk. You got to get confirmation from all the mother f---ers that you fought some because I've done my due diligence in the world of boxing.

"At 154 (pounds), I'm the king. I've been a king; I'm the king. You know what Tony Harrison told you. You got this staircase over here.

"Keep building yourself. When I do fight you, b---h, it's over. I don't play that s---. Big things in the way."

Tszyu has been desperate to get in the ring with Charlo and fight for all the belts.

He has previously accused the champion of dodging fights and being "smashed" in Las Vegas rather than trying to recover from his broken hand.

"There's a difference between me and him," Tszyu said last month.

"You see me, I'm active. I'm staying ready for the next opportunity.

"And every opportunity I get, I'm going to take it.

"Him on the other hand, he's on a honeymoon, off to Las Vegas, getting smashed."

It's believed if Tszyu can beat Ocampo later this month, a date with Charlo is just around the corner.
