Rivals' 'amazing' moment caught on camera

//

ACT Brumbies halfback Nic White is being lauded for his generous post-match moment with a Fijian Drua rival on Friday night.

After the Brumbies beat the Drua 43-28 in Canberra to go top of the Super Rugby Pacific ladder, Stan Sport's cameras caught White giving Drua No.9 Peni Matawalu some hands on coaching on the finer points of halfback play.

White, 32, has played 59 Tests for the Wallabies and is regarded as one of the world's premier halfbacks.

Matawalu, 25, is trying to break into Fiji's national team for this year's Rugby World Cup in France.

Australia and Fiji are in the same World Cup pool and will meet in Saint-Etienne on September 18 (AEST).

Fiji great Nemani Nadolo - now playing for the NSW Waratahs - applauded White on Twitter.

"This is why I have so much respect for this man," Nadolo wrote.

"Always taking time to help out the younger guys. I'm sure Peni will take it all in."

Fiji coach Simon Raiwalui also doffed his cap to White on Twitter.

"Nic is an absolute legend… for someone of his stature in the game to take the time and give feedback to one of our up and coming halfbacks, priceless," Raiwalui wrote.

"Game needs more of this, information is power… what you chose to do with it, is then up to you!"

White will assemble with the Wallabies on Sunday for Eddie Jones' first training camp on the Gold Coast.
