Several Manly players should hang their heads in shame when they compare their efforts with that of lion-hearted warhorse Jake Trbojevic on Saturday night.
Trbojevic led the Sea Eagles in both running metres and defence as they tumbled to a 44-12 loss at the hands of premiers Penrith on Saturday night.
The tackle-shy Sea Eagles missed 43 between them - but Jake didn't miss one and played the entire 80 minutes.

The Manly side was abysmal in the first half, conceding 32-0 to hand the game to the Panthers.
But if a few of Jake's teammates emulated his effort, the scoreline would not have been anywhere near as embarrassing.
Penrith springs to life
After a slow start to their title defence, the Panthers are suddenly the team everyone is fearing again.
The premiers have flexed their attacking muscle over the past two rounds, scoring a stunning 97 points.
Ivan Cleary's boys followed up their 53-12 mauling of Canberra with a 44-12 thrashing of the fancied Manly team on Saturday night.
Big guns Nathan Cleary and Dylan Edwards have found top form and are leading the Panthers steadily back up to the top of the ladder with their awesome skills.
The Panthers were at their attacking best in the first half, charging to a 32-0 lead against a Manly team that was powerless to stop them.
Cult hero an Origin bolter?
Is there a more improved player in the early rounds of the new season than Raiders firebrand Corey Horsburgh?
Horsburgh has been in strife because of his aggressive approach in the past but seems to have learned to control his temper over the off-season.
The flame-haired forward led the way in the shock 20-14 win over the undefeated Broncos, taking on the big Brisbane pack from start to finish.
Horsburgh made some strong runs, bone-rattling tackles and vital plays as the Raiders made amends for their poor performance the previous week in emphatic style.
Sami steps up
Phillip Sami had the game of his life for the Titans against the Dragons on Sunday.
The speedy winger was outstanding in Gold Coast's last gasp win, running for a massive 275 metres and making three linebreaks, as well as scoring a try.
Plenty of Titans fans shook their heads in disbelief when the club let the blockbusting Greg Marzhew go shortly before the start of the season but coach Justin Holbrook obviously knew what he was doing and Sami has slotted into the wing spot very nicely.
Gilbert locked in for Origin
Tom Gilbert has played one Origin game for Queensland - but this season he may well be the first forward chosen.
Gilbert has been outstanding for the Dolphins in their debut season and was ruthless in Friday night's upset 32-22 win over the Cowboys.
The 22-year-old came up with some massive plays in both attack and defence and has proved himself a real weapon for Wayne Bennett's new chums.
Gilbert was psyched up against his former club at his old home ground and was easily the best forward on the paddock as the Dolphins out-enthused the struggling Cowboys.
Latrell back to his best
The Bulldogs are Latrell Mitchell's "bunnies" - and they brought the best back out of the star fullback on Good Friday.
Latrell, who has started the season slowly, hit top gear against the tackle-shy Doggies, scoring his 10th straight win over them.
He also notched his first hat-trick since 2019 and ended the longest tryscoring drought of his career - seven games.
It was also his 12th try in 12 games against the Bulldogs… and the blue and white boys will be glad to see the back of him for a while after his super hot performance.
Questions over Radley
Victor Radley is one of my favourite players - I love his energy and enthusiasm out in the middle.
But "The Inflictor" needs to have a good hard look at himself after being sin-binned for the sixth time in the past three seasons against the Storm on Thursday night.
His departure had a massive impact on a game that was finely balanced at the time.
The Roosters led 8-6 and were right in the game. But after he returned from his 10 minutes in the naughty corner, the Storm were ahead 18-8… and never looked back.
They went on to win 28-8 - so the Roosters didn't score a single point in nearly an hour after Radley was sent to the bin.
Munster, Hughes key to Storm success
The Storm have lost a lot of key personnel over the summer and started the year slowly, but they remain a title threat so long as they keep Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes on the field.
Remarkably, when these two guys are together in the halves, the Storm's winning record is just over 80 per cent.
Hughes' return coincided with the Storm's best performance of the season on Thursday night as they outclassed the Roosters 28-8.
The two worked together superbly and their very different games complement each other and make them a danger against every defence in the NRL.
Rugby convert 'buy of the year'
Lachie Miller continued his push for buy of the year honours with a polished performance in the Knights' impressive 34-24 win over the Warriors last night.
Rugby convert Miller had a handful of top grade performances for Cronulla last season but has proved himself to be a permanent first grader in Newcastle after just a handful of games.
He ran for 182 metres yesterday, made a line break and six tackle breaks and did good mopping up work in defence.
While Miller was good, his opposite number, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, was also superb, running for 229 metres.
