Graham Arnold will become the first Australian manager to lead the national side against England at Wembley Stadium, with Football Australia on Tuesday announcing international friendlies for the Socceroos and Matildas.
The Socceroos will face the Three Lions at Wembley on October 14, while the Matildas take on the Lionesses at Brentford on April 12.
Staging two international matches marks an important move for Australian football with a spike in Aussies playing professionally for clubs in the United Kingdom.

It is hoped the two fixtures will support the progression and international profile of both Australia's national teams.
The Matildas have not faced the reigning Euros champions since October 2018 when their match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The women's match will serve as one of the teams' last hit-outs before Australia co-host the Women's World Cup with New Zealand in July.
"It's a chance for us to continue to gather crucial information on our style, our play and what we will need to continue evolving ahead of July's kick-off," Matildas coach Tony Gustavsson said.
For the Socceroos, the match in October will mark the first time Australia has played England at Wembley Stadium.
Following Australia's most successful FIFA World Cup on record, Arnold was positive the friendly would help the team's evolution.
"As an Australian footballer and coach, playing England at Wembley is something all footballers dream of," Arnold said.
"Not just because of the occasion, but for the opportunity it presents to test ourselves against one of the world's most revered footballing nations.
"We showed at the World Cup in Qatar that we can match it with the best and by playing the best on a more regular basis, it will only strengthen our preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers and the Asian Cup."
Currently in Australia, the 2023 Cup of Nations concludes with the Matildas facing Jamaica on Wednesday in Newcastle.
