//

Wide World of Sports revealed yesterday that Newcastle Knights and former Jillaroos star Caitlin Moran put a highly offensive post about the passing of the Queen on her Instagram account.

It was so vile that WWOS chose not to reveal its contents.

Moran deleted the comment late in the day - but NRL boss Peter V'Landys - who met the Queen recently - is known to be fuming about its contents and has instructed the Integrity Unit to look into it.

The Knights declined to comment other than to say it would look into the matter. A former Brisbane Bronco, Moran is among the highest profile players in the women's game and joined the Knights this season.

The 25-year-old halfback was a member of Australia winning 2017 Women's Rugby League World Cup squad and has also played for New South Wales and the Indigenous All Stars.
