The Brisbane Broncos have split with two senior members of their coaching staff in the wake of their woeful late season collapse which saw them miss a finals berth.
In a statement released Friday morning, the club announced former premiership-winning player, now assistant coach Terry Matterson, and football administration manager Steve Walters would leave the club after an end-of-season review of the team's performances.
It's believed Walters left of his own accord, but Matterson was axed as a direct result of the club's late season collapse.

Broncos chief executive Dave Donaghy said while the club were "disappointed" with on-field performances, the review was part of their normal processes.
"The process was a normal review that we do every year and we will take those learnings and ensure that we keep improving," he said.
"We were disappointed with the last month of the season but the team and club have taken great strides and our goal is to continue on that path in 2023."
Coach Kevin Walters said both Matterson and older brother Steve had "worked tirelessly" for the club.
"Terry has played and coached at the highest level. He won two premierships with the Broncos as a player," he said.
"He has worked as a coach for the best part of 20 years and bought a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role as a senior assistant coach.
"Steve has been working as a football manager for the last 20 years and approached me towards the end of the season about moving on to pursue things away from the club.
"He has worked with both the Kangaroos and Maroons through some of their most successful eras and the Broncos are grateful for his contribution and expertise over the past two seasons."
The Bronco's late-season capitulation was the worst in NRL history. The club sat fourth after their 36-14 win over the Eels in round 19.
They then lost five of the last six matches - including a 32-18 loss to the cellar-dwelling Tigers - and two thrashings at the hands of the Storm and Eels to finish ninth.
It marked the first time in the club's history they had missed the finals three years in a row.
