NSW Police are far from impressed with the way the NRL Integrity Unit has handled the Curtis Scott case.
And NRL boss Peter V'landys will likely investigate the actions of his so-called 'watchdog' in the wake of the charges against Scott.
The police arrested Scott on historical domestic violence charges against his former girlfriend late last week.

Wide World of Sports has learned that more than two years ago the woman told the NRL and the Integrity Unit about the entire list of offences Scott has now been charged with.
The IU took no action against Scott, while standing down and suspending other players for lesser allegations - and that does not sit well with the police. The reason for the lack of action is unclear.
"The NRL and the Integrity Unit let the alleged victim down very badly," a senior police source involved in the case told Wide World of Sports.
"They needed to be better and give the alleged victim more support.
"It was simply not good enough."
The NRL has been contacted for comment.
Scott was given permission by the NRL to trial for a contract with the Eels last week but his career has been put on hold as he will now face the charges levelled against him in court.
He has been charged with two counts of intentionally choking a person with recklessness, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalk or intimidate, and three counts of common assault.
Eels secure promising forward
The Eels have lost plenty of their grunt over the summer - but are about to lock down one of their promising middle forwards.
Ky Rodwell, a 22-year-old former Australian Schoolboy and NSW Junior Origin player, is close to extending his deal with the club.
Rodwell, a ball playing prop from the NSW south coast, played one top grade game for the club last season and didn't look out of place.
"We are currently looking to upgrade and extend Ky as he is off contract at the end of this year," Rodwell's manager Wade Rushton told Wide World of Sports.
"He has had a good off season and we are hopeful he will start the season in the top 17."
Fijian winger set to surprise
There will be changes aplenty at the Roosters next season following a series of retirements and transfers - and a flying Fijian could be a surprise starter in the top grade.
Speedy winger Vuate Karawalevu played in the club's lower grades last season and is one of several players vying for Brett Morris' vacant wing spot.
"He's progressing really well and is like a kid in a lolly shop at pre-season training," Roosters recruitment boss Daniel Anderson told Wide World of Sports.
"He is still very raw and still learning the game and is starting to understand just how demading the rigours of fulltime training are.
"He has some special skills and we are keen to see how he goes in the trials."
Slimmed-down Maumalo ready to fire
Big Ken Maumalo had a successful first season at the Tigers, joining the club early last year from the Warriors.
The giant flanker played 21 games and finished as the Tigers' top tryscorer with 15 strikes.
But club officials believed Maumalo needed to be fitter and the powerhouse winger has worked hard over the summer, already losing seven kilos.
A fitter Maumalo and the dangerous David Nofoaluma, who bagged 15 tries last year, will give the Tigers plenty of finishing power on the flanks in 2022.
