Argentina have beaten the All Blacks for the first time in International Rugby Test history, downing the Kiwi heavyweights 25-15 in emphatic fashion.
The Pumas were unshakeable on Saturday afternoon as they ran out on ANZ Stadium with purpose and never looked back, outmuscling the New Zealanders on nearly every play.
While it was a momentous occasion for the South Americans it also formed the perfect start to their Tri-Nations campaign.
"It's a big day for Argentinian rugby today," Pumas captain Pablo Matera said through tears post-match. "There's a lot of guys that put on this jersey, this is a big day for rugby in Argentina.
"We're used to this. Everything is hard in Argentina. At the moment, this is one of the toughest times in our country. So, we want to show the people that if you fight and if you work hard you get what you fight for. We just want to make our people proud.
"It was a big effort for all our guys, all the defence. We were really disciplined, we tackled hard and I think that's why we won today."
Nicolas Sanchez was ethereal in attack, scoring all 25 of the Pumas' points, making him the highest-scoring Argetenian against the Kiwis in a match.
The All Blacks were desperate to restore pride after falling to the Wallabies last week, only to drop consecutive matches for the first time since 2011 .
For all the efforts, they struggled to penetrate the South Americans' unrelenting defence and were eventually out-contested on every 50-50 ball.
Former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika also played a part in the win, after accepting a role as a consultant to Argentina coach Mario Ledesma.
